An audio clip of Karnataka Minister Zameer Ahmed has gone viral, in which he is heard pleading with the police to help a relative. The opposition has termed it a move that raises questions about morality and administrative impartiality. The police are investigating the matter.

Karnataka: Karnataka's Housing Minister Zameer Ahmed Khan is once again embroiled in controversy. An audio clip of his is going viral on social media, in which he is requesting a police officer to help his relative. This case is related to a fraud registered at Peresandra Police Station, where farmers have accused some traders of not paying for maize purchases.

Full Story of the Fraud Case

According to the complaint registered at Peresandra Police Station, local farmers accused Hyderabad-based traders Abdul Razak, Akbar Pasha, and Naseer Ahmed of purchasing maize between February and July but failing to make full payment. An FIR was registered in this case under Section 318 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS). The farmers allege that the traders only made promises of payment but did not return the money.

What Minister Zameer Ahmed Khan Said in the Audio

According to an NDTV report, in the viral audio, Minister Zameer Ahmed tells police officer Jagadeesh Reddy, “Hello brother, there's someone from Hyderabad. Akbar Pasha is my relative. I heard he was brought in for a financial matter.” Then he adds, “Yes, it's true he took the money, but not in the way it's being claimed. Please help him a little, brother. He is an important person to us. What can be done?”

Police Officer's Response

In the audio, police officer PSI Jagadeesh Reddy says, “We have already given them a chance to resolve the matter. If both parties agree and the outstanding amount is paid, the case can be closed. This is a matter of ego, and neither side is willing to back down.” To this, the minister replies, “Please give them one more chance, give them a few days.” The officer then explains that the consent of both parties is essential to resolve the matter.
