Kunika Sadanand visited the protest site at Jaipal Singh Munda Stadium in Ranchi on Sunday and interacted with candidates participating in the hunger strike and protest. She said the students’ concerns should be heard seriously and that the government should take appropriate steps on their demands.

The protest in Ranchi has been continuing for several days and has now entered its fourth week. Some candidates participating in the protest are also on hunger strike.

The protesters are demanding an impartial investigation into alleged irregularities related to JPSC and JSSC recruitment examinations and action against those responsible.

After Kunika joined the protest, a user on social media platform X questioned her participation and commented on her intentions. The user alleged that the actress was associating herself with such issues to remain in the discussion.

Kunika responded by calling the user a “mindless blind follower” and said that raising one’s voice for other people’s problems is a responsibility towards the country and society. She also said citizens should speak for people whose voices are not being effectively heard.

Kunika’s response quickly went viral on social media. Some people appreciated her participation in support of the students, while some users questioned her words and the manner in which she responded.

In response to another user, Kunika Sadanand also addressed comments about her social work. She said people should learn about her social work before commenting about her.

According to the actress, she has been associated with community service and raising her voice on social issues for around 40 years.

She also said viewers should not form their entire perception of her based only on the negative or “vamp” characters she has played in films. Following her statement, her earlier social and public campaigns also became a subject of discussion.

The candidates’ protest over recruitment examinations in Ranchi was reported to have continued for the 24th day. Prem Nayak, who is among the leaders of the movement, has been fasting for a long time and has expressed concern about his deteriorating health.

The protesters have said the government and concerned institutions should take a decision on their demands soon.

Among the protesters’ key demands is a CBI investigation into alleged irregularities in recruitment examinations. They are also demanding cancellation of the JSSC-CGL examination, an impartial investigation into alleged irregularities in the recruitment process and action against those found responsible.

The students have said ensuring transparency in the recruitment process is extremely important for the future of young people. Political and social reactions to the issue have also emerged.
