Bihar Politics: Creating a stir in Bihar politics, Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) chief Lalu Prasad Yadav has announced the party's national executive ahead of the upcoming elections. This executive consists of 28 members, most of whom are leaders from Bihar. Notably, the party has paid special attention to the social equation, giving representation to Yadavs, Muslims, women, and Extremely Backward Class leaders. Lalu Prasad has also made appointments based on experience, loyalty, and family dedication.
Rabri Devi Becomes Vice President Again
RJD supremo Lalu Yadav has once again appointed Rabri Devi as the National Vice President. As a former Chief Minister and senior member of the Lalu family, her role in the party remains consistent. Outgoing state president Jagdanand Singh has also been made the Vice President in the National Executive this time. Jagdanand had previously declined to accept the post of state president due to health reasons, but now the party has assigned him a new role at the national level.
Mehboob Ali Kaiser Gets Vice President Post for the First Time
Former MP Mehboob Ali Kaiser has been made the National Vice President for the first time. His selection is being seen as representation of the Muslim community in the party. Along with this, former Assembly Speaker Uday Narayan Chaudhary has also been retained as Vice President.
Abdul Bari Siddiqui, the Backbone of the Party, Gets Major Responsibility
Former minister Abdul Bari Siddiqui has once again been made the Principal General Secretary of the party. He has been playing an important role in party organization and strategy for a long time. Siddiqui is considered a trustworthy leader not only in the party but also in the government. Along with him, Legislative Councilor Sunil Kumar Singh has been re-appointed as treasurer. He is considered very close to the Lalu family. Rabri Devi addresses him as her brother.
Old Faces Dominate the List of General Secretaries and Secretaries

Renu Kushwaha's Return

Attempt to Achieve Social Balance
Special attention has been given to caste equations in the National Executive. The Yadav community has received the most representation. Muslims, Scheduled Castes, Extremely Backward Classes and women have also been given due place. At the same time, the upper castes and tribal communities have also not been ignored. It is clear that the party is working on a strategy to strengthen its core vote bank as well as connect new social groups in the 2025 assembly elections.
Jagdanand Family at Second Spot
After the Lalu family, Jagdanand Singh's family is considered the second most influential in the party. His son Sudhakar Singh has been made the National President of the Kisan Cell. This makes it clear that his dominance remains in the party organization.
Husband-Wife Duo Also Included in the Executive
There are only two new faces in this time's executive - Renu Kushwaha and Vijay Verma. Both are husband and wife. After Lalu and Rabri, this is the second couple who have become part of the National Executive. This makes it clear that the party has given priority to credibility and old relationships.

There are five such leaders in the new executive who are from outside Bihar. Anu Chacko is from Kerala, Dr. Neellohit Das is from the Northeast, Sushila Morale is from South India, Abhay Singh is from Jharkhand and Santosh Kumar Jaiswal is from Delhi. This is also a sign that the party is trying to expand its base at the national level.
Senior Leaders Given Respect
Former Vice President Shivanand Tiwari has been kept out of the executive due to age and health. However, this is being considered a respectful farewell. This also clarifies the party's intention to bring forward young leadership.
Manganilal Mandal, President of the party's Bihar unit, Chief Spokesperson Shakti Singh Yadav and Spokesperson Chitranjan Yadav have congratulated all the newly appointed office bearers. He has expressed hope that the new executive will strengthen the party in the upcoming elections.
