Monsoon 2025 Brings Relief: Heavy Rain and Alerts Across North India

The weather in Delhi-NCR has become pleasant and soothing after 24 hours of continuous light rain. The blanket of clouds and cool breeze have brought great relief to people troubled by the heat.

Weather Update: Monsoon 2025 has fully arrived in North India, and rainfall is continuing in the related states. Especially in Delhi-NCR, Rajasthan, Uttarakhand, Himachal Pradesh, and Bihar, heavy rain has provided relief to people from the heat and humidity. Additionally, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a heavy rainfall alert for several places in the coming days.

Pleasant weather in Delhi-NCR

The environment has become very pleasant due to the intermittent light rain in Delhi-NCR over the past 24 hours. According to the Meteorological Department, cloudy skies will prevail for the next 7-8 days, with light to moderate rain. There has also been a drop in temperature, providing significant relief to the people.

Heavy rainfall in many areas of Rajasthan, alert issued

The monsoon is fully active in Rajasthan. In the last 24 hours, Chaksu recorded the highest rainfall of 97 mm. According to IMD Jaipur, light to heavy rain occurred in eastern Rajasthan, while moderate rain was observed in the western parts. Particularly in the Kota, Bharatpur, Jaipur, Ajmer, and Udaipur divisions, there is a possibility of heavy to very heavy rain on July 12-13.

Heavy rain in Uttarakhand, record rainfall in many areas

According to the Uttarakhand Weather Update, areas like Dehradun, Mussoorie, Nainital, Haldwani, Ranikhet, Champawat, and Bageshwar in the state have experienced heavy rainfall in the last 24 hours. Mussoorie recorded 130.2 mm, Champawat's Tanakpur recorded 136 mm, and Dehradun's Hathibarkala recorded 118 mm of rainfall. While this rain has provided relief from the heat, it has also increased the possibility of landslides and road closures.

Roads closed due to rain in Himachal Pradesh

According to Himachal Pradesh Monsoon News, due to heavy rain, National Highway-3 (NH-3), which connects Atari in Punjab to Leh in Ladakh, has been disrupted in the Mandi-Dharampur section. A total of 245 roads in the state are still closed. Areas like Manali, Jubbarhatti, Paonta Sahib, and Nahan have received good rainfall. The state government has also appealed to tourists and local residents to be cautious.

Monsoon gains momentum in Bihar

IMD Bihar has issued a Yellow Alert for 18 districts, including major cities like Gaya, Patna, Bhagalpur, Darbhanga, and Samastipur. There is a possibility of light to moderate rain with b winds (up to 40 km/h) in these areas. Although the Yellow Alert is not severe, it raises the possibility of waterlogging and localized flooding in low-lying areas. Additionally, it could affect outdoor activities and traffic.
