Andhra Pradesh: Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated and laid the foundation stone for development projects in Andhra Pradesh during his one-day visit to Kurnool and Srisailam. On this occasion, he praised the state's progress and highlighted the importance of the central government's policies. The Prime Minister accused the Congress of neglecting the power sector and commended Chandrababu Naidu's speech in Hindi.
Inauguration of Projects Worth 13,430 Crore Rupees in Kurnool
Prime Minister Modi inaugurated projects worth 13,430 crore rupees in Kurnool. These include projects in the power, railway, road, petroleum, and industrial sectors. Specific projects include a 2,880 crore rupee transmission system strengthening project in Kurnool, industrial zones worth 4,920 crore rupees in Orvakal and Kadapa, a 960 crore rupee six-lane greenfield highway in Visakhapatnam, and the Srikakulam-Angul gas pipeline (1,730 crore rupees). These industrial hubs are expected to attract investments of approximately 21,000 crore rupees and create around one lakh jobs.
Prime Minister Praises Andhra Pradesh's Progress
Modi stated that Andhra Pradesh has achieved unprecedented progress in the last 16 months. Calling the 21st century the century of 140 crore Indians, he affirmed that the dream of a developed India will be realized by 2047. The Prime Minister also shared plans to develop Andhra Pradesh as a hub for AI (Artificial Intelligence) and connectivity.
Criticism Leveled Against Congress
Prime Minister Modi accused the Congress of neglecting the power sector. He stated that 11 years ago, when the Congress government was at the center, per capita electricity consumption was less than 1,000 units, and there were no electricity poles in villages. Now, electricity has reached every village in the country, and per capita consumption has increased to 1,400 units. Modi expressed pride in the strength of domestically manufactured defense equipment, mentioning ‘Make in India’ and ‘Operation Sindoor’.
Prayers at Mallikarjuna Swamy Temple
Prime Minister Modi offered prayers at the famous Mallikarjuna Swamy Temple in Srisailam. He performed Rudrabhishekam with Panchamrutam (a mixture of cow's milk, curd, ghee, honey, and sugar). Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu and Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan were also present during this time. This temple is one of the 12 Jyotirlingas and 52 Shaktipeeths.
After visiting the temple, Prime Minister Modi also visited the Sri Shivaji Sphoorti Kendra. This memorial complex houses a statue of Chhatrapati Shivaji in a meditative pose and models of four iconic forts: Pratapgarh, Raigad, Rajgarh, and Shivneri. This center was built in 1677 to commemorate Shivaji's pilgrimage.
Chandrababu Naidu's Hindi Speech Praised
Prime Minister Modi commended Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu's remarks made in Hindi. Naidu stated at the public gathering that the NDA's victory in Bihar would be ensured, and Modi's journey of triumph would continue. Modi remarked that Naidu, by speaking such good Hindi, won the hearts of NDA workers across Bihar and demonstrated commitment towards ‘Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat’ (One India, Great India).
Development and Investment Plans
While inaugurating industrial and infrastructure projects in Andhra Pradesh, Prime Minister Modi stated that Visakhapatnam would be developed as a hub for AI and connectivity. These projects are expected to increase employment opportunities and promote industrial investment in the state.
The Prime Minister explained that the development of industrial zones and highways in the state will not only create local employment but also provide services for the whole of India. These investments and projects will help strengthen Andhra Pradesh economically.
Emphasis on Citizen-Centric Development
Modi stated that the central government's main objective is citizen-centric development. Towards this, steps such as increasing the income tax exemption limit to 12 lakh rupees and reforming the GST structure have been taken. He asserted that continuous reforms are being made to ease the lives of the public.
