Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav announced a special scheme for the systematic operation and development of cow shelters (Gaushalas) in the state on the occasion of Govardhan Puja. This will promote cow rearing, natural farming, and self-reliance.
Bhopal: Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav announced a special scheme for the operation and development of cow shelters (Gaushalas) in the state on the occasion of Govardhan Puja. The CM stated that the state's Gaushalas would be developed as 'Gau-Mandir' (cow temples) and all necessary facilities would be provided.
Cows roaming freely in the state will be safely housed in Gaushalas to ensure their care and nourishment. Additionally, farmers practicing natural farming will be provided with a support price and extra financial incentives.
CM's Visit to Govardhan Puja Program
Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav visited Resham Kendra Gaushala in Khajuria, Hatod tehsil of Indore district on Wednesday and participated as the chief guest in the Govardhan Puja program. He performed Govardhan Pujan amidst Vedic chants.
During the program, Kumari Mahak Sharma was honored for the attractive decoration of Govardhan Parvat. The CM gave her an incentive amount of Rs 5,000 and also announced an additional Rs 11,000.
Development of Akhadas (Wrestling Arenas) and Wrestling in Gaushalas
The CM inspected the akhada (wrestling arena) built in the Gaushala and encouraged the wrestlers. He stated that this akhada would produce wrestlers like Krishna and Balaram in the future. Arrangements would also be made for wrestling on mats here, in line with modern times.
Urban Administration and Housing Minister Kailash Vijayvargiya stated that all public representatives should provide financial support for the development of Gaushalas. He also emphasized the need to work towards making Gaushalas self-reliant through cow dung and cow urine products.
Nutrition Amount for Cows Doubled
Water Resources Minister Tulsiram Silawat informed that the Chief Minister has doubled the nutrition amount per cow. This will promote both cow rearing (Gau-palan) and cow conservation (Gau-samvardhan).
Mayor Pushyamitra Bhargav said that the Municipal Corporation is actively increasing the number of Gaushalas. Earlier, there were 630 cows, which have now increased to over 2300. Sick cows will receive proper treatment in the new hospital and ICU center.
Promoting Innovation and Local Economy
The CM observed the project of indigenous diyas (lamps) made from cow dung at the event venue. He stated that this initiative is a commendable step towards environmental protection and strengthening the local economy. During Diwali, approximately two lakh diyas were sold, promoting local self-reliance.
Swami Achyutanand Ji Maharaj said that due to the Chief Minister's efforts, public participation has increased in the Gaushalas of Ujjain, Gwalior, Bhopal, and Jabalpur, and thousands of cows are being nourished more effectively.
