Delhi Police's Special Cell arrested two accused, Mohit Jakhar and Jatin Rajput, in an encounter late at night in Gurugram, related to the Najafgarh salon murder. The accused sustained bullet injuries to their legs, and police recovered weapons and cartridges from their possession.
Gurugram: In a joint operation by Delhi Police's Special Cell and Gurugram Police late at night in Gurugram, Haryana, two wanted accused were arrested following an encounter. Both accused sustained bullet injuries to their legs. These accused were involved in the murder of Neeraj Tehlan, who was the main witness to the killing of two people in a salon in Najafgarh.
Accused in Neeraj Murder Case Arrested in Encounter
Police received information on Thursday night that the accused in the Neeraj Tehlan murder case were present in Gurugram. Subsequently, the Special Cell and Gurugram Police launched a joint operation. During the encounter, the accused fired six rounds at the police. In retaliatory firing, police shot both accused in their legs.
Both injured individuals were admitted to Sector-10, Gurugram Civil Hospital. Two pistols, five live cartridges, and a motorcycle were recovered from the accused. Police personnel also remained safe during this operation. Head Constable Narpat's bulletproof jacket was hit, and Sub-Inspector Vikas sustained a bullet injury to his hand, but both are safe.
Murder of Two People in Najafgarh Salon
Approximately a year ago, two people were murdered in a salon in Najafgarh. CCTV footage of this murder had also emerged. Neeraj Tehlan appeared in this footage and became the main witness to this murder case.
However, Neeraj was also murdered later, presumably to prevent evidence from being presented in the murder case. Police had been searching for the accused for a long time and have now succeeded in solving the case by arresting them in an encounter.
Identification of Arrested Accused
The arrested accused have been identified as Mohit Jakhar and Jatin Rajput. Police stated that both had been wanted for a long time and had several complaints registered against them. Their arrest following the encounter not only brought a significant turn in the Neeraj murder case but also provided a major breakthrough in the investigation of the salon murder case.
Police informed that cases under sections related to murder, criminal conspiracy, and arms-related offenses will soon be registered against the accused. Both accused had previously been absconding and were continuously sought by the police.
