Nalanda: A tragic incident on Wednesday night at Nalanda Engineering College, located in Chandi, Nalanda district, Bihar, shook the entire campus. Sonam Kumari, a second-year student, jumped from the third floor of the hostel, sustaining severe injuries. Student's Death at College

Panic erupted on the college campus at the time of the incident. The student attempted suicide by jumping from the third floor of the hostel and was severely injured. Students claim that she writhed in pain for almost half an hour, but immediate medical assistance could not be provided. This indifference created a state of shock for everyone present on campus.

Despite the student's critical condition, the college administration took no immediate steps to transport her to the hospital. This negligence led to the loss of the student's life. Nearby students repeatedly requested a vehicle from the principal, but their pleas proved futile. This entire sequence of events sparked deep outrage among students and parents.

Students Accuse Principal

Students allege that Principal Gopal Nandan showed no sensitivity even in such a critical situation. Students stated that when they requested permission to take the injured student to the hospital, the principal neither provided a vehicle nor allowed them to transport her by bike. Following this, students created a significant commotion on campus.

Many students also believe that if immediate action had been taken, the student's life could have been saved. Outraged students protested on campus, demanding action against the principal and causing vandalism. Several students claimed that she took the drastic step due to mental stress. However, the police have not yet confirmed this.

Police officials and the college administration are working to ascertain the true reasons behind this incident. According to preliminary investigations, it will only become clear what caused the suicide after the post-mortem report and questioning of students. Meanwhile, concern and outrage among students and parents continue to grow.
