The incident occurred around 3 AM on the night of July 25th in the Dakshingaon area of Guwahati when Samiul Haque, a student, was crossing the road. A speeding SUV hit him and fled the scene without stopping. Samiul was a student at Nalbari Polytechnic College, Assam, and also worked as a temporary employee at the Guwahati Municipal Corporation. He was returning from work at night when the accident happened.

According to eyewitnesses and CCTV footage, Nandini Kashyap was driving the SUV that caused the accident. Based on the footage, the police proceeded with their investigation and took her into custody for questioning on Tuesday. After the interrogation, she was formally arrested around 1:30 PM on Wednesday. She will now be presented in the Guwahati Court. The actress has been charged under sections 279 (rash driving) and 304A (causing death by negligence) of the Indian Penal Code.

After four days of treatment, he passed away on the evening of July 29th.

The family members say that their son was both studying and working to support the family. His innocent death has shaken the entire family.
