Greater Noida: All Accused Arrested in Nikki Dowry Murder Case

In Greater Noida, police have arrested all four accused in the Nikki murder case related to dowry. The accused include husband Vipin, brother-in-law Rohit, mother-in-law Daya, and father-in-law. The incident occurred on August 21 at their home in Sirsa village, where Nikki was brutally beaten and burned alive. The Women's Commission has also demanded strict action in the case.

Greater Noida: The Nikki murder case in Greater Noida, Uttar Pradesh, has caused a stir throughout the state. Police arrested brother-in-law Rohit Bhati and father-in-law on Monday, while husband Vipin and mother-in-law Daya had already been sent to 14 days of judicial custody on Sunday. Thus, all four named accused are now in custody.

Police have confirmed that on August 21, Nikki was brutally beaten and burned alive by her husband and in-laws at their home in Sirsa village. This incident has created an atmosphere of mourning and outrage in the entire area.

Video of Assault and Burning Alive for Dowry Goes Viral

Two video clips are rapidly going viral on social media. The first video shows Nikki being dragged by her hair, while the second video clip shows her falling into flames and descending the stairs.

According to the family, Nikki's elder sister, Kanchan, was also married into the same family. Since the marriage, Nikki had been facing constant dowry demands and mental harassment. It is alleged that her in-laws initially demanded a Scorpio SUV, a motorcycle, and gold jewelry, and later demanded an additional ₹3.6 million in cash and a luxury car.

Police Arrest All Four Accused

Police initially arrested husband Vipin Bhati. He was also shot in the leg while trying to escape from custody. Following this, mother-in-law Daya (55) was also arrested. On Monday, police arrested brother-in-law Rohit Bhati and father-in-law from Sirsa toll.

Police have registered a case under sections 103(1), 115(2), and 61(2) of the Indian Penal Code. All four accused are now subject to judicial process, and further hearings will take place in court.

Women's Commission Demands Strict Action

The National Women's Commission has also immediately taken cognizance of the matter. The commission's chairperson, Vijaya Rahatkar, has written a letter to the UP DGP demanding the immediate arrest of all the accused, strict legal action, and ensuring the safety of the deceased's family members and witnesses.

Neighbors claimed that Vipin was not present at home at the time of the murder, and this was seen in CCTV footage. Some neighbors also said that Nikki set herself on fire, although police are investigating this claim.

The Nikki murder case has raised serious questions about issues such as the dowry system, domestic violence, and women's safety.
