Bhim Bahadur Jora, a notorious criminal from Nepal, was killed in Delhi in a joint operation by Delhi and Gurugram Police. He had committed major crimes such as theft at a BJP district president's house and the murder of a doctor.
New Delhi: On Tuesday morning, Bhim Bahadur Jora, a notorious criminal from Nepal, was killed in a police encounter at Delhi's Aastha Kunj Park. Jora had been involved in several major crimes in Delhi and other Indian states. A reward of Rs 50,000 had been declared for his capture.
According to the police, Bhim Jora opened fire on the police team despite being warned, and was subsequently shot in the crossfire. He was rushed to the Delhi AIIMS Trauma Centre in critical condition, where he succumbed to his injuries during treatment.
Bhim Bahadur Jora Accused of Murder and Theft
Bhim Jora was accused of murdering a doctor in Delhi. Additionally, he had stolen Rs 22 lakh from the house of BJP Mehrauli District President Mamata Bhardwaj in Gurugram. He had taken the help of domestic helper Yuvraj Thapa for the theft, whom the police had already arrested.
Police investigation revealed that Jora was involved in theft cases at various locations in Nepal and numerous homes in India. He would befriend Nepali domestic workers through social media and instigate them to commit thefts in homes.
Conspiracy to Steal from BJP Leader's House
In the theft that occurred in Sector-48, Gurugram, Bhim Jora conspired with the domestic helper to plan the theft. According to the police, Jora and the helper had gathered complete information about the house beforehand and then executed the crime.
This incident highlights the seriousness of the criminal network operating between Delhi and Gurugram, and its links extending to Nepal. The Police Crime Branch is now investigating all of Jora's connections.
Police Begin Identification and Investigation of Criminals
Following the encounter, Delhi and Gurugram Police stated that all criminals and their accomplices are being identified. The police team is thoroughly examining all of Jora's social and criminal networks.
CPRO and Crime Branch officials reported that cases of murder, theft, and robbery were registered against Jora. Police also stated that security measures would be tightened to prevent the recurrence of any further crimes.
