Political news regarding the Bihar Assembly elections 2025 is constantly in discussion. Amidst this, Om Prakash Rajbhar, the national president of Suheldev Bhartiya Samaj Party (SBSP), has made a significant statement regarding seat sharing with the BJP.

Patna: The atmosphere for the Bihar Assembly elections is heating up, and this time, not just Bihar's political parties, but also those from Uttar Pradesh are showing interest. Among them is Om Prakash Rajbhar, chief of the Suheldev Bhartiya Samaj Party (SBSP), who is now preparing to contest independently. It is reported that Rajbhar initially hoped the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) would allocate some seats to them within the NDA alliance, but this did not happen. Angered by this, he made a major announcement, stating that his party will now contest the elections independently and field candidates on more than 150 seats.

Om Prakash Rajbhar Upset with BJP in Bihar

OP Rajbhar shared his disappointment over the BJP not giving him a single seat in the Bihar elections. He stated that he only wanted 4-5 seats, but Bihar BJP did not grant him this right. Rajbhar said, "Bihar BJP fears that if I participate in the elections, we will have to join the government and will receive some department or the other."

He also mentioned that in the past by-elections, he had filed nominations for the Karari and Ramgarh seats, but local BJP leaders told him he would lose the election and advised him to withdraw his nomination. OP Rajbhar clarified that he only needed 4-5 seats, but his demand was not met.

Announcement to Contest Elections Independently

Om Prakash Rajbhar has clarified that he will now contest elections independently on 153 seats. He states that this decision has been taken considering the political circumstances in Bihar and the BJP's stance. He said, "Our fight is solely in the interest of Bihar; it will not affect our alliance with the BJP in UP."

The SBSP chief also hinted that his party might soon release its first list of 47 candidates. This clearly indicates that SBSP is entering the fray in Bihar with full preparation.

Tension Between BJP and SBSP Over Seat Sharing

The issue of seat sharing between BJP and SBSP in Bihar has been a long-standing cause of tension. OP Rajbhar clarified that he only wanted a few seats to ensure his representation in the NDA alliance. However, the BJP did not make any concessions in this regard. Rajbhar stated, "If the BJP even today gives us 3-4 seats, we will immediately withdraw our nominations. This will be our final attempt to contest elections as part of the alliance."

His statement is quite significant given Bihar's political equations. It also indicates that SBSP has an open desire to contest elections alongside the NDA, but due to disputes over seat distribution, it is choosing a different path.
