Hyderabad: AIMIM chief and Hyderabad MP Asaduddin Owaisi recently condemned the nuclear threats made by Pakistan's Army Chief General Asim Munir. He bly criticized Asim Munir, calling him a 'street thug'. Owaisi demanded that the Indian government immediately increase the defense budget, saying that the threat from the Pakistani army and its deep state remains constant, so India must stand ready with full preparedness.
Asim Munir's Controversial Statement
Pakistani Army Chief Asim Munir recently threatened India with a nuclear attack at an event held in Florida, USA. He said, "We are a nuclear-capable nation, and if Pakistan sinks, it will take half the world with it." Munir warned India not to build dams on the Indus River. If India builds a dam, Pakistan will respond with 10 missiles. He also said that the Indus River is not the private property of Indians.
Furthermore, he stated that Pakistan would initiate an attack from the eastern part of India because that is where India's most important resources are located. Then, they would move towards the west.
Owaisi's Strong Response
Asaduddin Owaisi termed Asim Munir's statement as condemnable and said that India cannot be shaken by such threats. He said that the words of the Pakistani Army Chief are very serious and dangerous. This situation is also worrying because it is all happening in the presence of India's strategic ally, the United States.
Owaisi, calling it the language of a 'street thug,' said that India should improve its defense preparedness. He also said that India needs to increase its defense budget to strengthen its army and security apparatus so that it can face any kind of challenge.
India's Strong Reaction
In response to Asim Munir's nuclear threats, the Indian government has also taken a b stand. Ministry of External Affairs spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal issued a statement saying that India will never bow down to nuclear blackmail. He said that India will take every possible step to protect its national security. Jaiswal said that Pakistan's nuclear threat is an old habit.
He appealed to the international community to pay attention to such irresponsible statements, as it raises serious questions about the credibility of the nuclear command of a country where the army is also in collusion with terrorist groups.
Tensions between Pakistan and India have been ongoing for a long time, and any kind of conflict between the two nuclear-armed countries is a matter of concern for the entire world. Asim Munir's statement has once again complicated the security situation in the region. In such a situation, Indian security experts are repeatedly saying that India needs to increase its defense capabilities and remain vigilant at both diplomatic and military levels to maintain regional stability.
