During heavy rains in Dera Ismail Khan district, roofs of several houses collapsed, and power supply was disrupted due to uprooted trees. This district saw 13 deaths, including three children, while more than 50 people were injured. Many of the injured have been discharged after treatment. Local authorities have prioritized relief efforts, and rescue teams are continuously moving people to safer locations in the affected areas. In the Takhtbhai area of Mardan district, one person died when the roof of a house collapsed due to heavy rain.
788 Deaths Since the Start of the Monsoon Season
In Pakistan, more than 788 people have died and 1,018 have been injured in the monsoon season that began on June 26 and continues through August 20 this year. Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has been the most affected by this monsoon. Officials stated that the Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) is continuously conducting relief and rescue operations in the affected districts, and the local administration has advised people to move to safe locations.

The weather department has issued red and orange alerts for Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and surrounding districts due to heavy rains and landslides. They have urged local residents to stay in safe places and stay away from riverbanks, sloping areas, and potential landslide locations. The department has warned that in case of an emergency due to heavy rains and floods, rescue teams should be contacted immediately, and personal safety should be prioritized.
