Patna Metro Successfully Completes Trial Run, Priority Corridor to Open by September

Metro Trial: Good news for the people of Patna. After a long wait, the first trial run of Patna Metro has been successfully completed. The train passed all safety and technical checks on a 200-meter track at the Bairiya Metro Depot. Urban Development and Housing Minister Jivesh Mishra inspected the trial run and checked the coaches, station facilities, and safety protocols. The success of the trial run indicated that Patna is now rapidly moving towards becoming a metro city.

Minister Jivesh Mishra's Inspection

While visiting the Bairiya Depot and Zero Mile Station, Minister Jivesh Mishra reviewed all the facilities of the metro. He sat in the coaches and checked the seating, signage, CCTV, and security systems. He specifically emphasized accessible entry and facilities for differently-abled passengers. The Minister appreciated the station design, clear instructions for passengers, and convenient signage.

Patna Metro Rail Corporation's Preparations

Abhay Kumar Singh, Managing Director of Patna Metro Rail Corporation (PMRCL) and Secretary of the Urban Development Department, informed the minister about the project's progress and operational preparations. He stated that the plan is to start the priority corridor by the end of September. Technical work on the tracks, electrification, and fabrication is almost complete. Following the success of the trial run, there should be no further delay in getting the green signal.

Priority Corridor: A 6.5 Kilometers Journey

This 6.5-kilometer-long elevated corridor from Malahi Pakdi to New ISBT will pass through five stations – Malahi Pakdi, Khemnichak, Bhutnath Road, Zero Mile, and New ISBT. This corridor will provide passengers with a fast, safe, and eco-friendly travel option. The trial run has proven that the stations and tracks are ready according to all standards.
