Patna Police Bust Illegal Guessing Racket, Arrest 17

Police in Patna's Sabzibagh area have busted an illegal guessing racket. During the raid, 17 people, including the main operator Mohammad Saifullah, were arrested, while one mastermind, Mohammad Rashid, is absconding. Police recovered coupons, cash, and walkie-talkies from the scene and are continuing their investigation into the matter.

Patna: Police in Patna, Bihar, have uncovered a major illegal guessing racket in the Sabzibagh area. A team from Pirbahore police station conducted a raid and arrested 17 people, including the main operator, Mohammad Saifullah, while a mastermind, Mohammad Rashid, is still at large. The accused were using walkie-talkies to monitor the police. Guessing charts, coupons, cash, and other equipment were recovered from the scene. Police are actively searching for the absconding accused and the investigation is ongoing.

Police Uncover Guessing Game in Sabzibagh Area

SP Diksha stated that the police had received information that a guessing game was being conducted in the Chambalghati area of Sabzibagh. To confirm the information, a special team from Pirbahore police station conducted a raid under the direction of SDPO Town.

During the raid, 16 people were caught red-handed. Two guessing charts, a large number of cut guessing coupons, calculators, and approximately ₹20,000 in cash were recovered from the scene. The main operator, Mohammad Saifullah, was also arrested, from whom additional cash and coupons were recovered.

Police stated that the operation of this gang was highly organized, and all members were using walkie-talkies to maintain contact with each other.

Search for Absconding Mastermind Mohammad Rashid Continues

Police investigation revealed that another mastermind of the racket, Mohammad Rashid, is a resident of Sabzibagh. A police team reached his house, but he had already fled. During a search of the house, guessing charts, slips, a daily accounts register, three walkie-talkie sets, chargers, and approximately ₹90,000 in cash were recovered.

Additionally, four live cartridges were also found during the search, for which a separate case has been registered under the Arms Act. Police said that the accused were using walkie-talkies to monitor every activity of the police.

Police Arrest 17 Accused

So far, a total of 17 people have been arrested. An FIR has been registered against all the accused, and the police are engaged in the investigation. SP Diksha said that the arrested accused are being interrogated, and raids are being conducted continuously to search for the absconding mastermind Rashid.

The police also clarified that walkie-talkies were being used to maintain mutual coordination in the operation of the guessing racket and to gather information about the activities of the police.
