On Monday, a "Special Discussion on the 150th Anniversary of the National Song Vande Mataram" has been listed in the Lok Sabha. Prime Minister Narendra Modi will deliver the inaugural address for this debate, while Defence Minister Rajnath Singh will be the second speaker. During this discussion, several aspects related to the historical, cultural, and national significance of Vande Mataram, which are less known to the general public, are likely to emerge.

This song was composed by the renowned litterateur Bankim Chandra Chattopadhyay and set to music by Jadunath Bhattacharya. During the independence movement, this song became a symbol of patriotism and continues to hold a place of pride in the Indian psyche today.

Additionally, several MPs from the Congress, including Deepender Hooda, Bimol Akoijam, Pranati Shinde, Prashant Padole, Kiran Chamala Reddy, and Jyotsna Mahant, will participate.
