Police have filed a chargesheet in court in the widely reported case of alleged molestation of a woman doctor at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences, Gorakhpur. During the investigation, an additional section related to racial remarks was added to the previously registered charges.
According to the case details, the woman doctor alleged that some individuals behaved indecently with her, subjected her to inappropriate physical contact, and pulled her shirt. Following the incident, she lodged a complaint, on the basis of which police initiated an investigation. Statements, CCTV footage, and other evidence were collected during the probe.
Police sources stated that the investigation also found that the accused made objectionable and racial comments against the doctor. On this basis, relevant sections were added. The chargesheet includes a detailed account of the incident, witness statements, and technical evidence.
After the incident, questions were raised regarding security arrangements within the hospital परिसर. Doctors and staff demanded enhanced security measures. The case triggered debate across the state regarding the safety of women employees working in medical institutions.
Police officials said the chargesheet was filed based on the evidence collected, and further action will proceed in accordance with court directions. The accused have already been arrested, and the hearing in the case will continue in court.
Following the developments, the institute administration stated that security arrangements on the campus would be tightened and CCTV surveillance increased to prevent recurrence of such incidents.
