Post-Diwali Travel Surge: Prayagraj Trains to Delhi & Mumbai Fully Booked, Passengers Stranded
Last Updated: 6 hour ago

After Diwali, trains departing from Prayagraj for Delhi and Mumbai are experiencing a heavy rush. So far, 42 trains have reached "Regret" status, meaning all coaches on these trains are completely full, and even waiting list tickets are no longer available. This situation is making it difficult for passengers to obtain tickets.

Increased Crowding Expected on Sunday, October 26: According to railway officials, this day is anticipated to witness the highest volume of passengers, which could make securing seats on trains even more challenging.

Major Trains Reaching "Regret" Status: Key trains such as Prayagraj Express, Humsafar Express, Vande Bharat, Rajdhani Express, Babadham Express, Shivganga Express, Godda Delhi Express, Nandan Kanan, Purushottam, Poorva Express, Mahabodhi Express, Swatantrata Senani, Poorvottar Sampark Kranti, Swarna Jayanti Express, Seemanchal, North East, Brahmaputra Mail, Jammu Mail, Netaji Express, and Amrit Bharat Express are completely full.

Problems with Online Booking: The IRCTC website and apps frequently encounter server downtime issues. For Tatkal tickets, as soon as the booking window opens, tickets get booked within mere seconds.

Special Trains and Additional Coaches: The railways have decided to operate additional coaches and special trains, but these measures are proving insufficient.

Suggestions:

Plan in Advance: Plan your travel well beforehand and avoid delaying ticket bookings.

Consider Alternate Routes: If possible, explore alternative routes or trains.

Contact Railway Helpline: For any assistance, reach out to the railway's helpline.
