Prashant Kishor Predicts 'Historic Change' in Bihar Elections 2025, Cites Migrant Workers as 'X Factor'

After the first phase of voting for the Bihar Assembly Elections 2025, the political temperature is at its peak. Amidst this, Prashant Kishor, the head of Jan Suraj and a former election strategist turned leader, has made a significant statement.

Patna: Prashant Kishor (PK), the chief of Jan Suraj, has made a major statement regarding the overwhelming voter turnout in the first phase of the Bihar Assembly Elections 2025. He claimed that this time the public has voted in favor of change, and history will be written on November 14. According to Prashant Kishor, the people of Bihar are now tired of traditional politics and are enthusiastic about a new political alternative.

He also stated that this election has seen unprecedented participation from migrant workers, which could prove to be this time's "X factor." PK said that after a long time, such a large number of migrant voters have returned to their villages and have laid the foundation for political change by voting in favor of Jan Suraj.

People Want Change – Prashant Kishor

Reacting to the high voter turnout in the first phase, Prashant Kishor said, "This time's voting clearly indicates that the people of Bihar are now tired of traditional politics and are ready for change. The public has voted not for negative politics this time, but in favor of a new alternative."

He further added that the people of Bihar are now moving beyond caste, religion, and regional equations towards politics of development and good governance. According to Kishor, the objective of Jan Suraj is not merely to win elections, but to lay the foundation for a "new political culture" — where politics connects with the public's issues rather than equations of power.

Migrant Workers Become the Election's "X Factor"

Prashant Kishor stated that the role of migrant workers could prove decisive in this election. He informed that a large number of migrants returned to their villages to participate in voting, which has rarely been seen before. "After a long time, Bihar's migrant workers have returned to their villages and have given a historic message by voting for Jan Suraj. These workers will be the real X factor of this election," said Prashant Kishor.

Analysts also believe that the votes of the labor class working outside Bihar could change the results in many constituencies this time. After the pandemic, this segment has become more politically aware and vocal about issues such as employment, education, and local development.

Youth Enthusiasm and Rising Voter Turnout

Prashant Kishor also emphasized that the participation of young voters in this election has been historic. According to him, the voter turnout among those aged 18 to 30 has been higher than in any previous Assembly election. He stated, "Such a large number of votes are cast when the public is ready to change the government, not to retain it."

The Jan Suraj chief also believes that this enthusiasm and participation of the youth could change the face of Bihar's politics in the coming years. Following PK's statement, political activities in Bihar have intensified. The ruling coalition and opposition parties have challenged his claims, while Jan Suraj workers are viewing it as a "wave of change."

The first phase of voting proceeded peacefully, with approximately 62% voter turnout recorded. Now all eyes are on the vote counting on November 14. This day could prove significant not only for Bihar but also for the politics of the entire country.
