At midnight, belongings were removed from Rabri Devi's government residence located at 10 Circular Road, Patna. The movement of vehicles and the shifting of goods have fueled speculation that the residence is being vacated, although no official statement has been issued by the RJD.
Bihar Politics: Once again, there is heightened activity in the political circles of Patna. After midnight, vehicles began arriving at Rabri Devi's government residence at 10 Circular Road, and the process of removing belongings gradually commenced. This residence has been an integral part of the political identity of Lalu Prasad Yadav and his family for the past two decades. Now, the images and news of this residence being vacated are signaling new developments in Bihar's politics.
Small vehicles arrived at Rabri's residence on Thursday night and removed minor items, including plants and trees. These items have been shifted to a cowshed located on Gola Road. It is reported that they will be moved to another location from there.
Why did vehicles arrive at midnight?
The incident of removing belongings at night has raised several questions. Typically, the process of vacating government residences takes place during the day, but the arrival of vehicles at midnight has become a topic of discussion among people. Local residents and political circles view it as the beginning of a major change.
Notably, this entire development occurred while RJD supremo Lalu Prasad Yadav was in Delhi. At the same time, the Leader of the Opposition, Tejashwi Yadav, was also not in Patna. The shifting of belongings in the absence of the family's key leaders is sending various political and emotional signals.
No official confirmation from RJD
Although images of belongings being removed from Rabri's residence have surfaced, no official statement has been issued by the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) so far. The party's silence has further fueled speculation.

Political analysts believe that this process may be part of action initiated under a notice. However, it is also being said that only minor items have been removed so far, and large-scale shifting is yet to take place.
Notice to vacate the residence was received a month ago
The entire matter regarding Rabri Devi's government residence began when the Bihar Building Construction Department sent a notice to the Lalu family on November 25th. The notice asked them to vacate the government residence after 20 years.
Following the victory of the NDA in the Bihar Assembly elections of 2025, a new government was formed in the state once again. With the formation of the government, a review of government residences provided to former Chief Ministers and leaders began. In this regard, a notice to vacate the residence was also issued to Rabri Devi.
Rabri Residence in Bihar Politics
The residence at 10 Circular Road has been more than just a government bungalow. It has been the center of political activities for the Lalu-Rabri family. Many major decisions were taken and many political strategies were formulated from here. During Rabri Devi's tenure as Chief Minister and later, this residence became synonymous with the RJD. As such, vacating this residence is considered significant both emotionally and politically for the party and the family.
Increased tension within the family after electoral defeat
Reports of internal tension within the Lalu family had already surfaced after the crushing defeat in the Bihar Assembly elections of 2025. An emotional atmosphere was observed within the family after the election results.
Lalu Yadav's daughter, Rohini Acharya, leaving Rabri's residence in tears also made headlines. During a conversation with the media at the Patna Airport, she stated that she had no family. This statement created a stir in political circles.
