In Madhubani, Bihar, Rahul Gandhi targeted the Election Commission and PM Modi. He made serious allegations regarding vote theft and a new law, expressing concern about the lack of consultation with the opposition.
Bihar: Congress leader and Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha, Rahul Gandhi, is currently on his "Vote Adhikar Yatra" (Vote Rights Journey) in Bihar. While addressing the public in the Madhubani district, he bly criticized the Election Commission and the central government. He questioned Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the BJP, claiming that irregularities have consistently occurred in the election process. Rahul Gandhi cited examples from the Gujarat, Maharashtra, and Haryana assembly elections, leveling accusations of 'vote theft'.
Questions Raised on the Election Commission and PM Modi
Rahul Gandhi stated that the Prime Minister decides who will be the Election Commissioner, and the opinion of the Leader of the Opposition is ignored. He mentioned the law enacted by the BJP in 2023, stating that now no case can be filed against the Election Commissioner. He alleges that this law was created to safeguard the process of 'vote theft'. Rahul Gandhi said, "When a thief is caught, he becomes silent. The same is the case with the statements of the Prime Minister and Amit Shah."
Did Vote Theft Begin in Gujarat?
The Congress leader claimed that incidents of vote theft began in Gujarat and first came to light at the national level in 2014. Subsequently, such irregularities were used to ensure victory in elections in various states. He said that he did not speak openly about this earlier because he did not have concrete evidence, but now the situation has become clear.
Mention of Events in Maharashtra and Haryana
Rahul Gandhi cited examples from the elections in Maharashtra and Haryana, explaining how results were influenced by changing the vote counts and the new voter lists. He said that the votes of the Congress did not decrease, but the votes of the BJP increased.
Accusation of a Law for Vote Theft
Rahul Gandhi explained that under the law enacted in 2023, no case can now be filed against the Election Commissioner. He called it a 'law for vote theft'. He says that if someone's money is stolen, it is gradually discovered, similarly, cases of vote theft also come to light gradually.
He mentioned his personality, saying that when he is determined to do something, he completes it. He gave examples of his persistence in the Land Acquisition Bill and other matters. He said that about 90% of the people in the country are from backward classes, Dalits, and tribals, whose representation in politics is low. Rahul Gandhi claims that the Congress is working to ensure this representation.
