On Constitution Day, Rahul Gandhi stated that the Constitution protects the rights of every Indian. He appealed to citizens to safeguard it and stand up against any attack.
New Delhi: On Constitution Day, Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha, Rahul Gandhi, extended his wishes to the countrymen, stating that India's Constitution is not just a book, but a sacred promise of equality, dignity, and justice. He emphasized that this document protects the rights of every citizen and it is everyone's responsibility to safeguard it from any assault.
Protection of Every Citizen's Rights
In his post, Rahul Gandhi wrote that the Constitution is a protective shield for every Indian. Irrespective of their religion, caste, language, or region, whether rich or poor, they will receive equality and justice. He stated that the Constitution is the strength of the marginalized and weaker sections and the voice of every citizen. Gandhi also added that as long as the Constitution is safe, the rights of every Indian will remain secure.
Pledge to Protect the Constitution
Rahul Gandhi appealed to the people to pledge not to allow any kind of attack on the Constitution. He stated that protecting the Constitution is his duty, and if any attack occurs, he will be the first to stand up against it. He concluded his post by extending Constitution Day wishes to everyone.

Udit Raj Accuses Ruling Government
Meanwhile, Congress leader Udit Raj attacked the government, stating that the Constitution is being torn apart today. He claimed that anti-constitutional elements do not wait for opportunities to attack, and the democratic structure remains under constant threat. Udit Raj paid tribute to the martyrs of the 26/11 Mumbai attacks, mentioning the incident, and emphasized that the country must remain vigilant.
On November 26, 1949, the Constituent Assembly officially adopted the Indian Constitution, which came into effect on January 26, 1950. This day is celebrated as a commemoration of the fundamental principles of democracy, justice, and equality. The central government observes this day with national significance every year.
Congress's 'Save the Constitution Day' Program
The Congress has instructed all its state units to observe 'Save the Constitution Day' on November 26 at Pradesh Congress Committees and district headquarters. The party states that protecting the Constitution is synonymous with protecting democracy, and it is essential to widely disseminate this message among the people.
