Rahul Gandhi’s ‘Students Ki Goonj’ Programme in Indore on September 19, Venue Permission Pending

Rahul Gandhi’s ‘Students Ki Goonj’ programme is proposed in Indore on September 19, with final permission for the venue still pending. Congress claims more than 75,000 students have registered and preparations are continuing.

The proposed ‘Students Ki Goonj’ programme of Rahul Gandhi is scheduled to be held in Indore on September 19, but final administrative permission for the proposed venue is still pending. Congress city president Chintu Chouksey said the programme would be held on the scheduled date, while the party said more than 75,000 students had registered so far and preparations were continuing.

Congress has identified the vacant IDA ground opposite Regional Park as the primary venue for the proposed programme. However, the administration has not yet granted final permission to use the site.

Congress leaders have contacted the district administration regarding permission for the venue. The party has also submitted letters to the IDA and the Municipal Corporation, requesting that the ground be made available from September 14 to 19. Congress said administrative rules and security-related instructions would be followed during the event.

Congress has accelerated its student outreach campaign and registration process for the programme. City Congress president Chintu Chouksey claimed that more than 75,000 students had registered for the event so far. The party said the number could increase in the coming days.

According to Congress, the ‘Students Ki Goonj’ programme will provide an opportunity to engage with students and young people on issues related to education, employment, competitive examinations and their future. The party said organisational preparations were continuing while the final approval for the venue was awaited.

Congress had earlier sought permission to hold Rahul Gandhi’s programme at Nehru Stadium in Indore. After permission was not granted there, the programme date was shifted from September 12 to September 19.

The party is now preparing for Regional Park ground and other locations as alternative venues. Congress has also reapplied for permission to use Nehru Stadium and identified other possible grounds to avoid difficulties at the last moment. The administration has not yet announced its final decision on the venue.

Political statements between the BJP and Congress have also intensified over the ‘Students Ki Goonj’ programme. BJP leaders have raised questions about permission for the event and the proposed venue, while Congress has described it as a programme for dialogue with students and young people on issues concerning them.

Congress maintains that the programme will be held in Indore on September 19. The venue will be confirmed after the formal permission and the administration’s final decision.
