Maharashtra: An FIR has been registered against NCP-Sharad Pawar faction MLA Rohit Pawar in Maharashtra. The FIR, registered at the Azad Maidan Police Station in Mumbai, accuses him of obstructing government work and misbehaving with police officers. This case is related to the arrest of Nitin Deshmukh, a supporter of MLA Jitendra Awhad.

Background of the Dispute

Amid the ongoing political tussle in Maharashtra, young NCP (Sharad Pawar faction) MLA Rohit Pawar has now been embroiled in controversy. He is accused of obstructing government work and misbehaving with police officers.

This dispute began when a scuffle broke out between Nitin Deshmukh and BJP faction worker Serjerao Takle. What initially appeared to be a minor dispute soon escalated. According to the police, the background for this quarrel may have been prepared in advance, as there had been tension between the two sides previously.

Police Action

Upon receiving information about the quarrel, the police took both sides into custody. In this action, both Nitin Deshmukh and Serjerao Takle were arrested. In protest of this, MLA Jitendra Awhad arrived at the Azad Maidan Police Station with his supporters. He tried to pressure the police to release Nitin Deshmukh.

Rohit Pawar also got involved in this incident and argued with police officers. According to sources, during this argument, he questioned the police action and gave a sharp response to some officers.

FIR Registered Against Rohit Pawar

Mumbai Police has registered an FIR against Rohit Pawar. The FIR includes charges under several sections of the IPC, including obstructing government work, misbehaving with police officers on duty, and non-cooperation. The police are now investigating the matter and are scanning CCTV footage and other electronic evidence.

Rohit Pawar's Clarification and Statement

After this entire incident, Rohit Pawar, while speaking to the media, said that he did not misbehave with the police. He said that he had only gone to question the arrest of Nitin Deshmukh and had communicated with the police. He also alleged that this FIR is a "pre-planned conspiracy" against him.

Truth of the Incident to be Determined by CCTV Footage

Mumbai Police is now engaged in examining CCTV footage and other electronic evidence. The police claim that if Rohit Pawar is found guilty, strict legal action will be taken against him. On the other hand, the NCP says that they respect this investigation, but the action should be impartial.
