After Sachin Pilot received a clean chit in the Manesar case, Rajasthan politics heated up. BJP leader Arun Chaturvedi targeted former CM Ashok Gehlot, stating that Gehlot wants Pilot to go to jail.
Jaipur: The Manesar case has once again stirred up Rajasthan politics. Despite Sachin Pilot receiving a clean chit from the High Court recently, political rhetoric shows no signs of abating. Reacting openly to former Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot's statement, Arun Chaturvedi, Chairman of the Finance Commission in the Bhajan Lal government, said that Gehlot wants Pilot to go to jail. Chaturvedi's statement has ignited a new debate in political circles.
Arun Chaturvedi's Sharp Taunt at Gehlot
During a conversation with the media, Arun Chaturvedi stated that even after the High Court gave Pilot a clean chit in the Manesar case, Gehlot is not accepting that the matter is legally closed. Chaturvedi added that if the legal process has been fully followed and the court has given its verdict, Gehlot should accept it.
He further stated that the police and administration are fulfilling their responsibilities and acting according to rules. Chaturvedi's statement has further intensified political discussions. According to him, Gehlot's stance against Pilot is not only unnecessary but also politically controversial.
Former Chief Minister Gehlot's Statement on Manesar Case
Former Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot recently reacted to the High Court's decision, stating that filing an FR (Final Report) in the 2020 Manesar case does not end the case. He also mentioned that if the High Court quashes the FIR, then the matter would be different. Gehlot clarified that the 2020 episode was not merely a theory but involved a real conspiracy to topple the government.
Gehlot's statement has once again heated up the political atmosphere. In his support, several Congress leaders argued that Pilot receiving a clean chit does not mean the political dispute has ended. This has brought a new turn in politics, and rhetoric between both sides has intensified.
Chaturvedi Questions Gehlot's Legal Objection
Arun Chaturvedi also questioned what security lapses occurred when the Kanhaiya Lal murder took place, at which time Gehlot was the Chief Minister in Rajasthan. He asked why Gehlot now has an objection when the law is doing its job. According to him, no one can be considered above the law.
In this context, Chaturvedi clarified that political issues should not interfere with the legal process. He stated that the administration and judiciary are working independently, and impartial investigations are continuing despite political pressure.
