In this match, both South Africa's bowlers and batsmen performed exceptionally well. Powered by the explosive innings of Rubin Hermann and Rassie van der Dussen, South Africa chased down the target of 145 runs in just 17.2 overs.
Zimbabwe's Innings: All Batsmen Failed Except Brian Bennett
South Africa won the toss and decided to bowl first, which proved to be beneficial for them. Zimbabwe's start was very slow and disappointing. Opening batsman Wesley Madhevere departed after scoring just 13 runs off 14 balls. However, Brian Bennett tried to steady the innings and scored 61 runs off 43 balls. In his half-century innings, he hit 7 fours and 3 sixes, entertaining the crowd.
In the middle order, Clive Madande (8 runs) and captain Sikandar Raza (9 runs) also failed to make a significant contribution. Ryan Burl did offer some resistance, scoring 36 runs off 31 balls to help the team reach a respectable score. The entire Zimbabwe team could only manage 144 runs for the loss of 6 wickets in the stipulated 20 overs.
South Africa's Batting: Hermann and Dussen Shined
South Africa's bowlers put up a brilliant performance. Corbin Bosch bowled exceptionally well, taking 2 wickets for just 16 runs in 4 overs. Apart from him, other bowlers also bowled tightly, due to which Zimbabwe failed to put up a big score. Chasing the target, South Africa had a very poor start.
Opening batsman Luan-dre Pretorius was dismissed for just 4 runs off 7 balls, while Reeza Hendricks scored only 6 runs off 13 balls. In such a situation, the African team's score was 22 runs at the loss of two wickets. After this, Rassie van der Dussen and Rubin Hermann took charge. With this win, South Africa has entered the final of the T20 Tri-Series 2025. The final match will be played between New Zealand and South Africa on July 26th.
