The administration in Sultanpur has become vigilant regarding stubble burning. If anyone is caught, a fine ranging from ₹2,500 to ₹15,000 will be imposed.
The administration has appealed to farmers not to burn stubble and to be aware of its adverse effects. Alongside this, an awareness campaign is also being conducted.
To curb incidents of stubble burning, a special cell has been constituted, which will be headed by the Additional District Magistrate (Finance and Revenue). This cell will include officials from the Revenue, Police, and Agriculture departments
and they will continuously monitor the situation.
At the Gram Panchayat level, responsibilities have been assigned to Lekhpal, Gram Pradhan, Vikas Adhikari, Thana Adhyaksh, etc., to prevent stubble burning incidents in their respective areas. If any incident is reported, the SDM and Tehsildar should be informed immediately.
The fine rates (per incident) are as follows:
Less than two acres → ₹5,000
Two to five acres → ₹10,000
More than five acres → ₹30,000
Furthermore, the administration is also stating that offending farmers may be deprived of government schemes or other benefits.
