Sultanpur, December 12, 2025 — A new pontoon (floating) bridge will soon be constructed over the Gomti River, providing significant relief to thousands of people in the area for transportation. The construction work has been allocated a budget of approximately ₹59 lakh. The bridge will be located near Gajendrapur village in the Karaundi Kala block.
Local residents state that they currently rely on boats to cross the river, which poses risks and consumes considerable time. The construction of the bridge will eliminate the need for people to travel an additional 10–15 kilometers.
The administration has approved the project in response to long-standing demands from public representatives. The new bridge will directly connect several surrounding villages, facilitating traffic and daily commutes.
