Suddenly, her car was stopped by a crowd. Attacked Twice, No Police - Sumona Chakravarti

The actress further wrote in her post: "As we moved a little further, we encountered the same situation again. This happened twice within five minutes. There was no police presence around at that time. Later, when we saw police, they were just sitting and talking. I felt extremely unsafe in this entire situation." Sumona Chakravarti stated that this incident occurred during the Maratha reservation protests. She also mentioned the condition of the roads, noting that they were littered with banana peels, plastic bottles, and garbage everywhere. The footpaths were occupied by protestors.

According to her, the protestors were cooking, bathing, and making video calls and social media reels right there. She described this as a mockery of civic responsibility.

Felt Unsafe in Mumbai for the First Time - Sumona

Sumona said that she has been living in Mumbai for a long time and had never felt unsafe in South Mumbai before. However, this was the first time she was overcome by fear. She wrote: "I am fortunate that I had a male friend with me at that time. If I had been alone, I don't know what would have happened. I wanted to record a video, but I didn't have the courage to pick up my phone due to fear. I felt that if I started recording, the crowd might get more agitated."

At the end of her post, Sumona also targeted the Mumbai Police and administration. She wrote, "Peaceful protests have happened and should happen. But what I witnessed this time was complete anarchy. The police took no action here. As a taxpayer, a woman, and someone who loves this city, I am deeply distressed. We have the right to feel safe in our city."
