Tejaswi-PM: RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav has directly attacked Prime Minister Narendra Modi regarding the 50 percent tariff imposed on India by US President Donald Trump. He said that Prime Minister Modi is working under American pressure and is silent on this economic loss. Questioning Trump's claims, he asked why the PM has been silent so far and whether he has bowed down to American interests.
Tejashwi Yadav's attack on Trump's tariff
RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav launched a scathing attack on Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday. He questioned Modi's silence on the issue of the 50 percent tariff imposed by US President Donald Trump.
Tejashwi said, "You are all seeing how the government is working in this country. Trump has imposed a 50 percent tariff. Trump has said 28 times that he brokered a ceasefire. The Prime Minister has not yet broken his silence."
'Prime Minister is dancing to America's tune'
Tejashwi Yadav accused the Prime Minister, saying that Modi has become so weak that he is dancing to America's tune. He said, "The Prime Minister has not yet said that Donald Trump is lying. The country will suffer a lot from the 50 percent tariff, and no one is speaking about it. Everyone is silent. These people will harm the country and then go to Bihar and say, 'Look, we have become world leaders.'"
Details of the American tariff
On August 6, President Donald Trump signed an executive order imposing an additional 25 percent duty on imports from India. With this, the total duty on Indian goods will become 50 percent.
According to the White House, this tariff has been imposed considering India's direct or indirect import of Russian oil, which the US has described as an "unusual and extraordinary threat" to itself.
This duty will be effective from August 7, while the additional duty will be applicable after 21 days. It will be applicable to all Indian goods, except those that are in transit or have specific exemptions.
Tejashwi's statement on the EPIC number issue
Tejashwi Yadav also clarified regarding the alleged duplicate EPIC numbers. He said, "I have not received any notice from the Election Commission. I have received a notice from the Patna district constituency, and I will give a proper reply to it."
Tejashwi further said, "If two EPIC numbers are issued, whose fault is it? I mean, they make a mistake, and then they ask me for clarification? Has this ever happened before? I have always voted from the same place. They will have no answer to my reply."
