This complaint was later forwarded to the police through the Chief Judicial Magistrate, based on which the Ernakulam Central Police Station registered an FIR.

The FIR against Shwetha Menon has been registered under Section 67A of the Information Technology Act, 2000, and Sections 3 and 5 of the Immoral Traffic (Prevention) Act, 1956.

In the petition filed in the High Court, Shwetha Menon has termed the allegations as completely fabricated and false. She stated that the complaint was filed to damage her public image and to gain political advantage. The petition mentions that the films which have been made the basis of the complaint, such as:

  • Paleri Manikyam
  • Rathinirvedam
  • Kalimannu

are all certified by the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) and have been legally released. Shwetha also clarified that she has not participated in the creation or promotion of any type of pornographic website or obscene content.

Allegation of Political Conspiracy

And it was during this time, on the last date for withdrawal of nominations, that this complaint was filed against her. She described it as a political conspiracy to tarnish her reputation and push her out of the electoral race.
