A private Sharma bus carrying around 20 to 25 passengers overturned near Chaluj Mod on the Tissa-Bairagarh main road in Himachal Pradesh’s Chamba district on Saturday morning. Three people have died in the accident, while several passengers are reported to have been injured.
Local people reached the accident site after receiving information about the crash and helped rescue passengers trapped inside the bus. Efforts were also made to provide immediate medical assistance to the injured, with preparations to take seriously injured passengers to the nearest hospital. The exact number of injured passengers and their condition are yet to be officially confirmed.
Chamba Superintendent of Police Vijay Saklani confirmed the bus accident and said, based on preliminary information, that three people had died and some passengers were injured. The police have not yet determined the actual cause of the accident.
A police team reached the site and is investigating the circumstances of the crash. Officials are gathering information about the condition of the vehicle, road conditions and events preceding the accident to determine why the bus became uncontrollable and how the crash occurred.
