Tis Hazari Court ordered that the accused Rajesh Khimji, in the attack on Chief Minister Rekha Gupta, be provided with a copy of the FIR. The accused was instructed not to share the FIR details with anyone else without permission.

New Delhi: Delhi's Tis Hazari Court has ordered that Rajesh Bhai Khimji Bhai Sakariya, accused in the attack on Chief Minister Rekha Gupta, be provided with a copy of the FIR. Judicial Magistrate (Central) Gaurav Goyal accepted the accused's application and clarified that the accused cannot share the FIR details with any other person without the court's permission. This order marks a step towards maintaining transparency in the case investigation and judicial process.

Court Directs Provision of FIR Copy to Accused

Acknowledging the application of accused Khimjibhai, the Judicial Magistrate of Tis Hazari Court directed the Civil Lines police to provide a copy of the FIR. The court specifically stated that the accused cannot share the FIR details with any third party without permission. This directive was issued keeping in mind the sensitivity of the case and the confidentiality of the judicial process.

Pradeep Khatri, the defense lawyer, informed the court that the accused had not yet been provided with a copy of the FIR. The court clarified that there should be no delay in the judicial process and that the FIR copy should be made available to the accused immediately. This will help the accused prepare their defense strategy.

Both Accused in CM Attack Arrested

The incident occurred on August 20, when Rajesh Bhai Khimji Bhai Sakariya allegedly attacked Chief Minister Rekha Gupta at her 'Jan Sunwai' (public hearing) program in Civil Lines. The accused and his friend Tahseen Syed allegedly assaulted the CM, following which the police immediately registered a case and arrested both.

Following this attack, Delhi Police intensified its investigation given the gravity of the case. Tahseen Syed was brought from Rajkot, Gujarat, to Delhi and taken into custody. The investigation is ongoing, and the police are working to ascertain the connection between the two accused, the motive behind the incident, and to identify any other potential suspects.

Court Extends Accused's Judicial Custody

Delhi's Tis Hazari Court has extended the judicial custody of accused Khimjibhai and his associate Tahseen Syed until October 6. Both accused were presented before Judicial Magistrate Gaurav Goyal via video conference. The court stated the reason for extending custody was that the investigation is not yet complete, and the police require more time for further proceedings.

The court also directed that while in judicial custody, the accused must not engage in any unlawful activity or share FIR details with the media. This order was issued considering the sensitivity of the case and the security of the Chief Minister.
