Trump has previously indicated that the US could provide Kyiv with Tomahawk missiles to ensure Ukraine's security.

Russia has sharply reacted to Trump's statement about supplying Tomahawk missiles. Russian officials state that such military aid could have devastating consequences and further escalate tensions in the region. Military support and arms supplies in the Russia-Ukraine conflict remain a constant subject of dispute.

What Zelenskyy Said

Before his US visit, Ukrainian President Zelenskyy stated that his discussions with Trump would include Ukraine's defense, air defense, and long-range military capabilities. He also mentioned that Trump had previously achieved success by brokering a ceasefire between Israel and Hamas. According to Zelenskyy, Trump's strategy could also serve as an an example for ending the Russia-Ukraine war.

Russia's Attack on Kharkiv

Meanwhile, the Russian army has attacked Kharkiv, Ukraine's second-largest city, with glide bombs and drones. A hospital was targeted in this attack, injuring seven people. This attack occurred just as Ukrainian President Zelenskyy is about to visit the US and is preparing to request more military aid from US President Trump.
