Umar Ansari, the younger son of mafia Mukhtar Ansari, was arrested by Ghazipur police on Sunday from Lucknow. The action occurred when Umar was taken into custody from the government residence of SBSP leader and his elder brother, Abbas Ansari, located in Darulshafa, Lucknow. He was then directly brought to Ghazipur, where a case is registered against him for providing forged documents.
This arrest is related to a petition filed by Umar in court to release the properties of his father that had been seized. It is alleged that Umar attached documents to this petition that were found to be fake. The documents allegedly contained forged signatures of his mother, Afshan Ansari. Afshan is currently absconding, and the police have announced a reward of ₹50,000 for her arrest.
Attempt to Release Property Through Forged Documents
According to an official statement released by the Ghazipur Superintendent of Police Office, Umar Ansari had filed a claim in court to release the family properties seized under the Uttar Pradesh Gangsters Act. To substantiate this claim, he submitted certain documents, which were found to be forged during investigation. After verifying the authenticity of the documents, a case was registered against Umar under several sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) at the Mohammadabad police station.
Increased Legal Troubles for the Family
According to police sources, a detailed investigation is now being conducted following Umar's arrest, and a forensic examination of the related documents will also be carried out. Meanwhile, Abbas Ansari himself has confirmed this action through social media. He wrote that his younger brother Umar has been taken into police custody.
Notably, Mukhtar Ansari is already in jail in connection with several criminal cases, and now, with the arrest of his son Umar, the family's legal troubles have further increased. The police are taking this entire matter seriously, and more arrests are expected in the coming days.
