UP Government's Diwali Gift: Unlimited Cashless Treatment for 1.6 Million Employees and Pensioners in Private Hospitals

Before Diwali, the Yogi government has given a new gift to over 1.6 million state employees and pensioners in UP. Now, unlimited cashless treatment facilities will also be available in private hospitals, which will most benefit pensioners.

Lucknow: The Uttar Pradesh government has given a significant gift to state employees and pensioners before Diwali. Now, more than 1.6 million government employees and pensioners will also be able to avail cashless treatment in private hospitals. This facility will be provided under the Deen Dayal Upadhyay Cashless Scheme and the Ayushman Vay Vandan Yojana.

The Health Department has prepared a proposal for this, which will soon be sent for high-level approval. After approval, state employees and pensioners will be able to receive unlimited cashless treatment in private hospitals.

Cashless Treatment Facility in Private Hospitals

Previously, under the Deen Dayal Upadhyay Cashless Scheme, unlimited cashless treatment was available in government hospitals and medical institutions, while in private hospitals, the benefit was limited to only Rs 5 lakh.

Now, with the implementation of this new system, state employees and pensioners will also be able to avail unlimited cashless treatment in private hospitals empaneled under the Ayushman Vay Vandan Yojana. This will provide special benefits to pensioners, as arranging expenses became difficult for them after exceeding the Rs 5 lakh limit in private hospitals.

Caution in Government Order and E-KYC

The Medical Health Department has advised special caution during e-KYC. If any employee or pensioner mistakenly completes e-KYC by selecting the Ayushman Vay Vandan Yojana, they will be excluded from the Deen Dayal Upadhyay State Employee Cashless Scheme.

In such a case, the beneficiary will only receive treatment up to Rs 5 lakh and will not be able to avail unlimited cashless benefits. Therefore, employees and pensioners have been advised to exercise caution while performing e-KYC and select the correct scheme.

Health Scheme Set to be Implemented Soon

According to sources, several rounds of meetings have been held in the Health Department, and there is a high probability that the scheme will be implemented soon. Necessary amendments will be made to the government order for this. However, it may take 5 to 7 months.

The state government has also ensured that proper guidelines and information will be provided to all employees and pensioners after its implementation.
