UP Home Guard Bharti 2025: The Uttar Pradesh state government has initiated new preparations for the Home Guard Recruitment 2025. Following orders from Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, changes have been proposed in the educational qualification, age limit, and physical test for the recruitment process. According to the new rules, candidates will now be required to have passed 12th grade (Intermediate) to participate in this recruitment. Additionally, the maximum age limit has been reduced from 45 years to 30 years.
Following these proposals submitted to the government, it is expected that the notification for UP Home Guard Bharti 2025 will be released soon, and the application process can be initiated.
Recruitment will be in two phases
The Home Guard Recruitment 2025 is planned to be conducted in two phases. Approximately 22,000 posts will be filled in each phase, leading to a total of about 44,000 new Home Guards being appointed.
Recruitment Process
Phase 1: Candidates will be required to appear for a written examination.
Phase 2: After passing the written examination, successful candidates will have to participate in a Physical Test.
This process will ensure that candidates are physically and mentally capable of fulfilling the responsibilities of a Home Guard.
Changes in Educational Qualification
Previously, candidates who had passed 10th grade could apply for UP Home Guard. However, under the new rules, a minimum qualification of 12th grade pass is now required. This change has been implemented to enhance the educational standard of youth and prioritize qualified candidates in the recruitment.
Changes in Age Limit
According to the new rules, the maximum age limit for recruitment has now been set at 30 years. Previously, this limit was 45 years. This step has been taken to provide more opportunities to young individuals and to balance the current Home Guard force.
New Physical Test Pattern
In the Physical Test, candidates will have to prove their physical capability. The changes are as follows–
- Male candidates: Must complete a 4.8-kilometer run in 25 minutes.
- Female candidates: Must complete a 2.4-kilometer run in 14 minutes.
The objective of this change in the Physical Test is to ensure that selected candidates can perform quickly and efficiently in emergency situations.
Current Home Guard Status
Currently, against 1,18,348 sanctioned posts in Uttar Pradesh, only 71,155 Home Guards are active.
- Approximately 38,000 volunteers will retire in the next 10 years.
- Over 51 percent of the existing force comprises Home Guards aged above 50 years.
The Chief Minister has stated that there is a need to provide more opportunities to young individuals to strengthen the Home Guard force.
Need and Objective of Recruitment
The Home Guard force plays a crucial role in maintaining law and order, traffic control, and disaster management. The Chief Minister praised the role of Home Guards in a high-level meeting last month and instructed officials to prepare a new registration system.
This new recruitment will increase the number of young and qualified candidates in the force, thereby strengthening the state's security and disaster management capabilities.
