UP PET 2025 Exam: The Uttar Pradesh Subordinate Services Selection Commission (UPSSSC) is organizing the Preliminary Eligibility Test, PET-2025, on September 6 and 7. This examination will span two days, with two shifts each day. The first shift will be held in the morning, and the second shift in the afternoon.
This year, 25,31,996 candidates will appear for the examination. This means approximately 6.33 lakh examinees will sit for each shift. A total of 1479 examination centers have been established across 48 districts for the exam. This is considered one of the largest examinations to date.
Why is PET Important?
PET (Preliminary Eligibility Test) is the first stage for recruitment examinations for Group 'C' posts. This means that the score obtained in this examination determines a candidate's eligibility for future recruitments. If a candidate successfully passes the PET, they get the opportunity to apply for upcoming recruitments.
The score from this year's examination will be valid for three years. This implies that if a candidate scores well in PET 2025, their score will be valid for recruitments conducted over the next three years.
Qualification Criteria
As per the examination rules, candidates who receive zero or negative marks will not be considered qualified. Candidates scoring above one mark are deemed qualified. However, the selection process is easier for those who achieve the highest scores.
Examination Centers and Monitoring System
To ensure the examination is conducted impartially and transparently, control rooms have been set up in all districts. Additionally, a central control room has been established at the UPSSSC headquarters in the Pickup building. All examination centers will be monitored from this central control room.
Special facilities have been provided to differently-abled and female candidates. They have been allocated examination centers within their own districts. Other candidates have been assigned examination centers on a divisional basis.
Correction for Female Candidates' Error
Some female candidates mistakenly selected the male option in the "Gender" column while filling out the application form. This resulted in their examination centers being allocated in other districts. Approximately 22 such female candidates requested corrections by sending emails to the commission. The commission has taken note of these emails and has initiated the correction process.
Mobile App Facility
The UPSSSC has also launched a mobile app for the convenience of the examinees. All essential information related to the examination is being provided on this app. So far, about 4 lakh examinees have downloaded this app. The commission states that further updates will be available on the app.
