The water level of the Ganga is in a worrying state in areas such as Kachhla Bridge in Budaun, Ghazipur, Chhatnag and Phaphamau in Prayagraj, Ballia, Mirzapur and Varanasi. Although the water level has decreased in some places, the danger has not yet passed.

What are the Instructions Regarding Schools?

The District Magistrate of Lucknow has ordered the closure of all schools up to class 8 for today. This order applies to all government, aided, private and all board schools. This decision has been taken in view of the danger of rain and floods to ensure the safety of children. The local administration is also taking decisions in other districts according to the situation.

Latest Updates on the River Situation

The water level of the Ganga River remains stable in Ghazipur, while a slight decrease in the water level has been observed in Prayagraj, Ballia, Mirzapur and Varanasi. At the same time, the water level of the Ghaghra River flowing in Ayodhya is continuously increasing, and it remains stable at the Elgin Bridge in Barabanki.

The water level of the Yamuna River is decreasing in Naini, Prayagraj, but it is above the danger mark. A slight decrease has been recorded in the water level of Sharda and Rapti rivers, but the Meteorological Department's latest rain warning has again increased concerns.

Continuous Rain May Worsen the Situation

Due to continuous rains for the past few days, the land is already saturated with water. In such a situation, more rain can further aggravate the situation of waterlogging and floods. There is a possibility of crop damage and disruption of traffic in rural areas. Waterlogging and traffic jams have become common on roads in urban areas.

Administration's Preparation and Appeal

The local administration is constantly monitoring the situation. Relief and rescue teams have been alerted in flood-prone areas. Boats, life jackets and other necessary resources are being made available. The administration has appealed to people not to leave their homes without essential work and to follow the instructions issued by the administration.
