A significant update has emerged regarding the voter list revision campaign in Uttar Pradesh.
The Election Commission has extended the timeline for the process and released a new schedule. The final voter list will now be published on February 6th, whereas previously, this date was set for January 15th.
The period for voter list revision work has been extended by 21 days.
The preparation of the computerized voter list will be completed by December 10th.
The mapping of polling stations and wards will be completed by December 22nd.
After the final voter list is released, inspection work will continue until December 30th.
Applications for new voters who are 18 years old will be accepted starting January 1st, 2026.
The period for resolving claims and objections has been set from December 31st to January 6th.
The preparation of the handwritten manuscript will take place between January 7th and 12th.
A supplementary list, including the names of new voters, will be prepared from January 13th to 29th.
Other technical tasks, including voter list download and obtaining photocopies, will be completed from January 30th to February 5th.
Along with the new schedule, the Election Commission has clarified that all
tasks will be strictly completed within the stipulated timeline to ensure an updated and error-free voter list is available for the 2026 elections.
