In a grand ceremony held at Vigyan Bhawan in New Delhi, she was honored with the prestigious National Award by President Droupadi Murmu. National Recognition for 'Catch the Rain' Campaign in Barmer
Barmer, a western region of Rajasthan, has long faced water scarcity and a severe water crisis. Transforming this challenge into an opportunity, Tina Dabi spearheaded the widespread construction of 'Tankas' (traditional water harvesting structures) in the district. This initiative ensures that valuable rainwater is conserved and reaches villagers, providing them with access to fresh water for 3-4 consecutive months.
Tina Dabi stated that this campaign not only alleviated the water crisis but also succeeded as a community initiative due to the active participation of villagers. This honor bestowed by the President has brought national recognition to Barmer's administrative efforts and the effectiveness of public participation.

Tina Dabi's Administrative Vision
Tina Dabi's administrative tenure has always been noted for its public welfare projects. Besides water conservation, she initiated the 'Saksham' project in Jaisalmer, under which medical camps were organized for persons with disabilities, and they were easily provided access to government schemes.
She believes that administration should not be limited to just formulating schemes, but should involve the public and provide long-term solutions. This very philosophy made the 'Catch the Rain' campaign in Barmer successful and sustainable.
Contribution to Education and Women's Empowerment
Tina Dabi has not only been active in water conservation but also prioritizes education and women's empowerment. She has undertaken several initiatives to improve educational facilities in rural areas and empower women to be self-reliant. These initiatives have brought positive change at the local level, and women have learned to better utilize their rights and resources.
Winning the National Award proves that Tina Dabi is not just a diligent administrator, but also an inspiring leader for positive change. Her work is bringing new direction and new hopes to the development of Barmer. The national recognition of the 'Catch the Rain' campaign demonstrates that serious problems can be solved through sustainable development and community participation. Tina Dabi's model can serve as a source of inspiration for other districts and states.
