Ayodhya — Incidents of fraud, amounting to millions of rupees, are on the rise in Ayodhya, the city of Lord Rama, perpetrated under the guise of facilitating land deals. Scammers are misleading people by tampering with land documents and are also targeting large investors.

Pankaj R. Srivastava (Gorakhpur) has alleged that three individuals — Ramesh Das (Ramkot), Amresh Pandey, and Dhirendra Singh — jointly presented him with documents, which included land extracts (khasra nakal) and registry papers. These documents indicated that one plot was valued at 60 lakh rupees, while another plot, named "Aakriti Makhija," was to be sold for 40 lakh rupees.

Pankaj has complained that during the transaction, approximately 25 lakh rupees in total were deposited into the accused's accounts through cash, bank transfers, and multiple installments.

When Pankaj later checked the actual land records, he realized that he had been shown the wrong plot — the plot detailed in the documents did not match the land he had expected in reality.

Following sudden claims for commission or lease-related aspects in the deal, the accused refused to return Pankaj's money. During this process, according to Pankaj, he also allegedly received threats.

Following the accusation, Pankaj has filed a case at Ayodhya Kotwali. Authorities are now investigating the matter.
