An important update is available for NEET UG-2026 qualified candidates awaiting admission to MBBS and BDS courses in Uttarakhand. The second phase of the state’s centralised NEET UG counselling process has started. Eligible candidates can complete online registration, fee payment, and college and course choice filling by September 9, 2026. The counselling is being conducted by Hemwati Nandan Bahuguna Uttarakhand Medical Education University (HNBUMU).
The second phase is relevant for candidates who did not secure a seat in the first phase or want to participate in the next round to seek a seat in their preferred college. Candidates who registered earlier and want to upgrade their allotted seat can also participate. The counselling process provides new candidates, previously registered candidates, and candidates in the float category seeking seat upgrades with the facility to fill and lock their choices.
According to the schedule, registration and choice filling for the second phase began on September 7 and will continue until September 9. Candidates must complete online registration and pay the required fee within the stipulated deadline. They must then enter their preferences for the available medical colleges and courses. After completing choice filling, candidates must lock their choices so that their preferences can be considered during seat allotment.
The counselling will facilitate admission to MBBS and BDS courses in Uttarakhand. Candidates who have qualified NEET UG-2026 and are eligible to participate in the state counselling process can seek seats through this phase. Candidates who did not receive a seat in the first phase, as well as those seeking a better option, can participate in second-phase choice filling.
Candidates should consider their NEET rank, category, available seats, and seat-allotment trends from the previous phase while selecting colleges and courses. They should enter their preferred colleges and courses in priority order and review the complete list before locking their choices.
After the first phase of counselling, seats will be allotted in the second phase based on vacant seats and available options. The Uttarakhand NEET UG Counselling 2026 Round 2 seat allotment result is scheduled to be released on September 11. After the result is released, candidates will have to complete the subsequent admission process according to the applicable instructions.
Candidates who are already registered for counselling should carefully review the instructions related to participation in the second phase. In particular, candidates in the float category seeking seat upgrades must complete choice filling and locking within the stipulated deadline. Registration in the first phase alone should not be assumed to mean that new choices for the second phase have been recorded automatically. Candidates should confirm their status and choices on the counselling portal.
New candidates can also apply in the second phase. They must register through the designated online portal, pay the required fee and security amount, and provide the information requested in the counselling form. They must then select and lock available college and course choices according to their preferences. Candidates should ensure that details such as their name, NEET roll number, rank, category, and other required information are entered correctly.
Information related to documents is also important during the counselling process. Candidates should keep their NEET UG-2026 documents, identity proof, academic certificates, category certificate, and other required state-related documents ready. This will help them meet document requirements during college reporting after seat allotment.
Candidates should also distinguish between Uttarakhand’s state counselling and the Medical Counselling Committee’s (MCC) counselling at the all-India level. State counselling covers the admission process for seats and institutions related to Uttarakhand, while MCC separately conducts counselling for the All India Quota and relevant central and other institutions. Candidates should therefore check which counselling process they are participating in and its applicable deadline. At the national level, the NEET UG 2026 Round 2 counselling process is also being conducted in September.
The second phase of counselling in Uttarakhand provides an opportunity for candidates who did not receive their preferred seat in the first phase. Securing a seat after NEET UG is an important stage in the medical admission process, and candidates participating in the second round can use the available options while completing their choice filling.
Candidates should complete the application process before the deadline rather than waiting until the final date. Technical issues, payment delays, or high website traffic during the online process may cause difficulties at the last moment. Registration, fee payment, and choice filling should therefore be completed before the September 9 deadline.
The second phase of Uttarakhand NEET UG Counselling 2026 is open to eligible candidates seeking admission to MBBS or BDS courses. The process began on September 7 and applications and choice filling can be completed until September 9, while the second-phase seat allotment result is scheduled to be released on September 11. Candidates should carefully read the official instructions available on the counselling portal before applying and locking their choices.
