Varanasi has experienced a sudden change in weather. Due to the influence of westerly winds, temperatures have dropped during both day and night, intensifying the cold in the city. The Meteorological Department has issued a special alert for the coming days, warning that temperatures could fall further in the next three to four days.
On Tuesday, the maximum temperature in the Babatpur area was recorded at around 26 degrees Celsius, and the minimum at approximately 11 degrees Celsius. Similarly, in the BHU area, the maximum temperature remained below normal, and a clear drop in night temperatures was observed. Strong winds have led to an increased chill in the mornings and evenings, compelling people to wear warm clothes.
The Meteorological Department forecasts a further drop in temperature of two to four degrees. Additionally, light fog or mist may prevail during dawn, affecting visibility. The department has advised people to take necessary precautions to protect themselves from the cold and to keep an eye on changing weather conditions.
