Jaunpur. Veer Bahadur Singh Purvanchal University (VBSPU) has imposed a complete ban on the use of paan, gutkha, and other intoxicating substances on campus. This decision is considered a significant step towards ensuring the university's cleanliness, discipline, and a healthy environment.
Key Points
In the order issued under the directive of Vice-Chancellor Prof. Vandana Singh, all university buildings, departments, classrooms, and hostels (for both men and women) are included.
If any student, teacher, employee, or external individual is found using paan, gutkha, alcohol, or other intoxicating substances on campus — or if their remnants (such as paan stains, gutkha wrappers, alcohol bottles) are found — strict disciplinary action will be taken after gathering evidence through CCTV surveillance and forensic investigation.
Heads of departments, superintendents, and security personnel have been instructed to strictly enforce the order.
This step has been described as a "b initiative" towards keeping the university campus drug-free, clean, and disciplined.
