Entertainment: Actress Sonakshi Sinha posted pictures with her husband Zaheer Iqbal from Abu Dhabi's Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque on Karwa Chauth. A controversy erupted on social media regarding her attire and footwear. The actress was trolled for wearing shoes inside the mosque, to which Sonakshi responded by stating that she had not entered the mosque and fully respected its rules. She advised trolls to 'look closely' and 'not create controversy unnecessarily'.
Mosque Pictures Shared on Karwa Chauth
On Karwa Chauth, Sonakshi Sinha shared some pictures on Instagram with her husband Zaheer Iqbal from Abu Dhabi's famous Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque. In the pictures, Sonakshi was seen in a white and green printed co-ord set, with a green dupatta draped over her head. Zaheer Iqbal appeared in a black T-shirt and green trousers.
Sonakshi captioned the pictures, “A little peace found, right here in Abu Dhabi.” In these photos, both appeared very happy and relaxed. However, as soon as the post went viral, many people started commenting on the pictures and raising questions.
Trolls Targeted Over Shoes
In the pictures, some users felt that Sonakshi and Zaheer had entered the mosque wearing shoes. Subsequently, many tried to preach religious decorum to them. One user wrote that it is wrong and disrespectful to enter a mosque with shoes on.
However, Sonakshi immediately responded to these trolls. She said, “That's why we didn't go inside with shoes. Look closely, we are outside the mosque. Before entering, they showed us a place to remove our shoes, and we took them off and kept them there. We know that much. Now, please move on.”
Sonakshi's response quickly went viral on social media. Many fans praised her calm and sensible reaction.
Controversy Escalates Over Sharing Mosque Photos on Karwa Chauth
Some users also questioned why photos from a mosque were shared on a Hindu festival like Karwa Chauth. This also sparked a heated debate on social media. While some criticized Sonakshi, many came to her defense.
One user wrote, “Sonakshi and Deepika both visited the same mosque and both looked beautiful with their husbands. Instead of trolling them, we should respect their choices.”
Another user wrote, “Whether it's a temple or a mosque, covering one's head is a spiritual matter. Whether you are Hindu or Muslim. What's wrong with that?”
Ranveer-Deepika Also Came into Discussion
Interestingly, a few days prior, an ad video featuring Ranveer Singh and Deepika Padukone had also gone viral, in which both were seen at the same Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque in Abu Dhabi. Deepika had worn a hijab at that time and was also heavily criticized by trolls. Now, upon seeing Sonakshi-Zaheer's pictures, people have raised the same issue again.
Social Media Debate Continues
Sonakshi's post has garnered millions of likes so far. However, the debate continues in the comment section. While some are trolling her, many users stand in her support. One fan wrote, “Sonakshi is always positive. Stop trolling her. She is happy in her life and living within her limits.”
