The violent brawl with sticks and batons between two women over a donation box at Khatu Shyam Dham in Sikar has caused panic among devotees. A video of the incident went viral on social media, and the police have registered a case and started an investigation.
Sikar: Khatu Dham, located in the Sikar district of Rajasthan, has once again become embroiled in controversy. Here, on the evening of September 6th, around 7:30 PM, a dispute between two women over a donation box escalated into violence. The argument escalated to such an extent that both women attacked each other with sticks, and a public brawl ensued.
Devotees who witnessed this spectacle were thrown into chaos. Nearby pilgrims were terrified, and many people recorded videos of the incident, which subsequently went viral on social media. This incident has tarnished the sacred image of Khatu Dham and caused public outrage.
Allegations of Gold Chain and Donation Box Loot
Khatu police station in-charge Pawan Kumar Choubey stated that Silochana Meghwal, aged 28, a resident of Kagdana village in Haryana, filed a report at the police station. She alleged that 5-6 individuals, including Ramkala, Kailash, Pooja, and Suman, attacked her.
According to Silochana, the attackers broke her mobile phone, snatched the gold chain from her neck, and seized three donation boxes containing cash. Furthermore, her companions Monika and Sunanda were also beaten, and their mobile phones were smashed. The accused allegedly threatened that if they ever tried to place donation boxes again, their limbs would be broken.
Dispute at Khatu Dham's Kabootar Chowk
At Kabootar Chowk in Khatu Dham, there is a practice of soliciting donations in the name of various organizations. However, there is no official system in place for this. Consequently, incidents of disputes and violence occur frequently. The police have stated that a case has been registered in this instance as well, an investigation has commenced, and strict action will be taken against the culprits.
Local residents and devotees desire that the administration implement proper monitoring and regulations at this location to prevent such incidents in the future. Transparency and security measures in the process of collecting donations near the temple are considered essential.
Devotees Demand Action from Administration Over Violent Incident
This is not the first time that sticks and batons have been used in Khatu Dham. Prior to this, there had been a physical altercation between some devotees from Madhya Pradesh and local shopkeepers. Some time ago, a shopkeeper had also accused a policeman of assault.
Now, the violent clash between women has further tarnished the sanctity of Khatu Dham. Following the viral video on social media, devotees are expressing their anger and demanding that the administration take swift and stringent action in such matters.
