Jaipur's special POSCO court on Wednesday dismissed the anticipatory bail plea of cricketer Yash Dayal. Dayal faces serious allegations of sexual harassment and rape of a minor girl.
POSCO Court: A special POSCO court in Jaipur dismissed cricketer Yash Dayal's anticipatory bail petition filed in connection with the alleged rape of a minor on Wednesday. The court stated in its order that the case pertains to serious allegations involving a minor victim and it would not be appropriate to grant anticipatory bail to the accused at this stage. Yash Dayal's arrest is likely at any time following the dismissal of the bail plea.
Court's Decision
Judge Alka Bansal of Special POSCO Court No. 3 stated in the order that granting anticipatory bail is not appropriate at this time considering the victim's statement, the available evidence, and the circumstances of the case. The court also stated that extreme caution and sensitivity are mandatory in cases involving minors.
The order also clarifies that the accused may be arrested at any time and no protection can be provided to maintain the fairness of the investigation.
Case Registered in Sanganer Sadar
The complaint was filed at Sanganer Sadar Police Station. The complainant alleged that Yash Dayal sexually exploited her for a long time by promising to help her build a career in cricket. The victim stated that Dayal presented himself as an influential cricketer and emotionally influenced her, assuring her of future cooperation and opportunities.
The complaint also alleges that when the victim later confronted Dayal, she was threatened and attempts were made to cut off contact. Following this, the victim contacted the police and filed a formal complaint.

Dayal's Stand
During the hearing, Yash Dayal's lawyer argued that the allegations are false and based on mutual consent. The defense stated that Dayal is a reputable professional cricketer and is ready to fully cooperate with the investigation. Meanwhile, the decision by Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) to retain Yash Dayal in the team for the IPL 2026 season is facing widespread criticism. Many are questioning the franchise's stance, as Dayal is facing two serious criminal cases, one of which is registered under POCSO (Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act).
Dayal has not played any competitive cricket since the IPL 2025 final. RCB won their first league title in this final by defeating Punjab Kings. In August 2025, the Uttar Pradesh Cricket Association suspended him from the UP T20 League due to the seriousness of the allegations.
