In her statement regarding the accusations of sexual harassment against cricketer Yash Dayal, the victim made an emotional appeal, stating, "I am not seeking hate, I am only seeking justice... Let my voice be heard."
Sports News: Indian cricketer Yash Dayal has become embroiled in a major controversy, facing serious allegations of sexual exploitation under the pretense of marriage. The victim brought this matter to light through a complaint on the Chief Minister's portal, and now the police have registered an FIR against him under Section 69 of the BNS (Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita). The entire case pertains to the Indirapuram area of Ghaziabad district in Uttar Pradesh.
Victim's Plea: 'Not hate, just justice needed'
A statement from the victim in this case is going viral on social media, in which she says, "I am not seeking hate, I am only seeking justice... Let my voice be heard." When the system stands with the truth, even a silent girl gains strength. This poignant statement has begun to garner public support on social media, and many women's organizations have demanded a fair investigation into the matter.
Background of the Case: Friendship started on social media, then...
According to the victim, she has known Yash Dayal since November 2020. They first met on social media and then in Prayagraj in person. Gradually, the friendship turned into a romantic relationship. The victim claims that Yash and his family mentally and physically exploited her for five years, promising her marriage.
She told the police that she also participated in many family events with Yash's family, including celebrating the Gujarat Titans' victory during the 2022 IPL final match with them.
Allegations of relationships with several girls in two and a half years
The victim alleges that Yash Dayal has had relationships with several other girls in the last two and a half years, which caused her mental trauma. She said that when she questioned Yash about the marriage, his behavior changed, and distance grew. When no action was taken despite a complaint on the Chief Minister's portal, the victim shared her story on X (formerly Twitter), which made the matter public.
In this case, Ghaziabad police registered a case against Yash Dayal under Section 69 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) late on July 7th. This section is applied in cases where sexual relations are established under false promises, especially under the assurance of marriage or a job. This crime is considered non-bailable and non-compoundable. That is, if the allegations are proven, Yash Dayal could face a sentence of up to 10 years and a fine. In addition, it becomes very difficult to get bail after arrest under this section.
Clouds of crisis over cricket career
The police are now in the process of recording the victim's statement under Section 164 before a magistrate. If the victim reiterates her allegations before the magistrate, Yash Dayal's arrest is almost certain. The victim stated in her statement that when she felt that no one was listening, she left her fight to God and the justice system. She has expressed hope for justice from the Uttar Pradesh Police, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, and the State Women's Commission.
Yash Dayal is currently a part of the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) team and is known as an emerging fast bowler in the IPL. However, this case could prove to be a major setback not only for his personal life but also for his career.
